SHF Animals In Search of Their Forever Family

It is our mission to first save these animals from a life of distress and suffering, then help them regain their health by meeting their medical needs and ultimately finding them loving homes to care for their unique needs. Here are our current adoptables:

Pet Adoption Notes

Why Adopt?

You’ll save a life! The number of euthanized animals could be dramatically reduced if more people adopted instead of buying them.

You’ll get a great friend! An animal that has been saved is brimming with love and gratitude and will show you in more ways than you can imagine! And you can feel proud about helping an animal in need!

You’ll help fight puppy mills! If you buy a dog from a pet store, online seller or outdoor market, you’re almost certainly getting a dog from a puppy mill. Puppy mills are factory-style breeding facilities that put profit above the welfare of the animals.

Your home will thank you! Often adoptables are a bit more mature and savvy to the ways of living indoors peacefully and with less accidents!

You will be helping more than one animal! By adopting, you will be making room for another soul in need who needs rescue.

But mostly, because you will change the adoptable’s whole world!

Things to Consider Before You Adopt

Do you have the time to devote to your new family member? He will need loving attention, play times and walks. Will someone be designated as Primary Caretaker to make sure the animal does not get lost in the shuffle of a busy family’s lifestyle?

Will your new family member’s expenses fit into your budget? She will need food, grooming, toys and veterinary care.

Will your new family member fit into your current living arrangement? Are there restrictions to the type of animal or zoning laws to consider? Is the indoor space large enough to accommodate and is there a safe, fenced outdoor area? Also, if your new family member is to be left alone for any period of time, is it a safe, heated/cooled area?

Do you have any health concerns that your new family member may affect? People with allergies or weak immune systems should be mindful of the effects certain animals can have on their health.

SHF does adoptions a bit different than other rescues. We ask that you contact us at savinghuey@gmail.com to express your interest in adopting a certain animal. Tracy likes to get to know her potential adopters prior to introducing the animal to the interested party. Once a relationship has been formed, we will then send you an adoption application that pertains to the animal of interest.

Our Services

We take on severely abused/disabled animals and offer them the best medical that money can buy, and a second chance here at Huey’s Second Chance Ranch.

Because our dogs have special needs, we work hard to find exceptional homes for our rescues that can provide the love and care they need to live fulfilling lives.

Saving Huey Foundation is committed to bringing awareness to and exposing the brutality of dog fighting and other forms of animal abuse.

Huey’s Heroes Reading Program was designed to help readers of all ages improve their reading skills, while sharing those skills with animals in a shelter.

Your generous donations help us continue to change animals and people’s lives for the better.
